so much for being original
Sep. 13th, 2010 05:24 pmI recently discovered instantiations of two things I'd thought of independently but not yet done anything about.
One is a Pioneer plaque tattoo. I don't intend to get a tattoo in the foreseeable future, mind you. But if I did, I had the idea that it would include some subset of the diagrams on the Pioneer plaque—say, the hyperfine transition of neutral hydrogen and the relative position of the sun to the center of the Galaxy and 14 pulsars, which also appear on the cover of the Voyager Golden Record.
The other is LED constellation embroidery. I've been vaguely considering holding a workshop at HacDC on making them; I just haven't had the time for the necessary prep work.
